Therapist, Supervisee in Social Work

I specialize in supporting families with young children, adoptive families, and military families through a compassionate, trauma-informed approach. With training in EMDR, Play Therapy, and Attachment Therapy, I create a safe space for healing, growth, and connection.

About Leah

I work with individuals of all ages, with a special focus on families with young children, including adoptive families and military families. My approach is grounded in building strong, healthy relationships and understanding how our brains and emotions work together. I provide compassionate, trauma-informed support to help with challenges like attachment struggles, anxiety, mood difficulties, self-esteem, attention issues, learning differences, and behavioral concerns. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where families can heal, grow, and thrive together.

My training in EMDR, Play Therapy, Expressive Arts, and Attachment Therapy, along with other evidence-based techniques, allows me to create a personalized approach for each family and individual I work with. I strive to provide a warm, welcoming space where children, parents, and military families feel supported, valued, and ready to begin their healing journey. Together, we can focus on building resilience, strengthening connections, and embracing life in the present moment. It is an honor to walk alongside you on this path toward healing and growth, and I look forward to supporting you and your family in reaching your goals.

Before earning my Master’s in Social Work, I worked in public and private school settings, gaining valuable expertise in the individualized education planning process, neurodiversity inclusion, and special education advocacy. As a mom of five adopted children, I have personal experience navigating the challenges of parenting children with complex developmental trauma, which gives me a deep understanding of the support families need. Additionally, as both a military spouse and veteran, I bring a unique perspective to my work, informed by my own experiences and the resilience required in military life. These personal and professional experiences shape my compassionate and tailored approach to supporting families like yours.

In my practice, I recognize that people’s experiences extend far beyond therapy sessions. Our identities shape how we engage with the world, often influenced by systems of privilege and oppression. I am committed to ongoing learning and unlearning, advocating for marginalized communities, and supporting my clients with an inclusive and intersectional approach. It is a true privilege to do this work, and I would be honored to be part of your journey toward healing. I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you and your loved ones.
